Elite athletes will often acknowledge that sport is largely mental and the rest physical. Sport involves a great deal of physical training and good athletes will take advantage of this. However, great athletes will also train their mind. Sport and performance psychologists examine the underlying mental, behavioral, and emotional components of performance, and work to educate and provide skills and exercises to maximize potential.
